I do computer instruction/lessons Most of what I do is instruction on a one-on-one basis. I will teach you exactly what you want to learn, and only what you want to learn. Many places offer computer classes. The problem with classes, is that part of the class will already know some of the information that is being taught, and part of the class will not have any interest in something that is being taught. In addition, people will have computers with different operating systems, and some of the things learned in the class will be totally different on their own computer when they return home and try to do the things that they just learned in the class. With my personalized lessons, you will learn how to do the things you want to do on your own computer. I will do group instruction, if requested, for small businesses or social organizations, but this will be limited to things that will apply to all members of the group, and it will apply, regardless of the difference of the computers of all the individuals in the class. One example of a good group lecture is internet safety (how to avoid getting a virus or being hacked). Some of the things I can teach you are: How to have a Video Chat with you grandchildren in California using Skype® How to use Photoshop® to edit photos Computer Safety The best methods and etiquette for emailing How to backup your computer How to edit video or audio How to use Facebook®, or how to get the best experience from using Facebook® How to upload your videos to Youtube® How to organize your internet favorites How to navigate the file system on your computer How to maintain your computer to get the best use from it How to setup an accounting program And many more things. I can teach you pretty much anything you want to learn about computers. |

I offer lessons in 3 different formats:
Personal one-on-one lessons in your home or business.
Live video lessons using the program Skype® This program will allow us to talk over the internet and share our computer screens. You can watch me do something on my computer screen, while we talk with each other and I explain the steps to accomplish the goal, and then I can watch you do it on your computer screen, and I can help you if you don't do something correctly, and we can work together until you completely understand. This is a very good method of teaching and learning.
Recorded Video Lessons This is probably not the best method, because you can't ask questions during the lesson, but this is good for people who want to study late at night, or at any time when it is not convenient for an in-home or live chat lesson. You can learn after you have put the children to bed, or at any other time that is good for you, and you can watch the video multiple times until you learn it. Scroll down for a sample of something similar to a video lesson. |

Notes: Some lessons may require the purchase of special software to do the things that you want to learn. Your computer may need to be cleaned or upgraded to be able to do what you want to do. There will be some things that I don't know how to do, or some programs that you might have that I don't use. In those cases, it is possible that I can learn it and then teach it to you, if it is something that I think that will also be of use to me in the future, or I may be able to teach you how to accomplish the same goal by using a different program. Some things that you want to learn my require more than one lesson for you to learn. Please contact me for prices and information. |

Computer lessons make great gifts! Are you tired of always having to do tech support for your mother, father, grandma, grandpa, co-workers, or friends? Give them a the gift of computer lessons, and you will also be giving yourself a gift at the same time! Or maybe you simply have a friend or family member who is interested in learning how to do something on the computer. If you wish to purchase a lesson, or lessons, as a gift for someone, I will make you a pretty gift-certificate and email it to you so that you can print it and give it to the recipient of your choice. |

Here is an example video. Please note that this is not really a lesson. It is just a short video of computer tech tips. Also note that this video has been reduced in size and compressed to make the file smaller for upload to Youtube® - A real lesson video will be a full HD video. And, Please excuse my voice in the video. The slow talking, southern drawl is normal, but I was a little hoarse from a cold at the time I made the video.
